There are, however, many instances in which an employer or outside party may need specific private information. When purchasing health care for employees as a business, insurers often want to know a bit about the backgrounds of the employees that will be insured. And behind the scenes, any life insurance provider is also double checking the information you give to them by calling on detailed checks of publicly available information. One of the most readily available sources would be a credit check. Whether employees like it or not, there is a lot of private information that is publicly available.
